My Birthday!

Hey everyone! How was every one's Easter? Mine was pretty good except my sister ate a bit too much candy and got extremely hyper :/. That wasn't fun. I didn't do much for Easter actually all I did was sit in my room mess around on my laptop(I just got my own laptop for my birthday!), text people, and read for like 6 hours straight. Living the dream! Oh yea and on Thursday I got more books! Some from the library and some from the book store. I didn't have any time to take pictures so I'm just going to get them from the Internet.

The first one I got was from the library and it is called City of Bones.

City of Bones
By Cassandra Clare

City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1)
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

I loved this book! I couldn't put it down! I finished it I swear in 2 days! I loved the adventure and my favorite character was Simom. The one thing I didn't like about this book is the romance between Jace and Clary that got old pretty fast. But that's just me.

The next book I got is the second Mortal Instruments Book...City of Ashes.

City of Ashes
By Cassandra Clare

City of Ashes (The Mortal Instruments, #2)

Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter, your mother is in a magically induced coma, and you can suddenly see Downworlders like werewolves, vampires, and faeries? If Clary left the world of the Shadowhunters behind, it would mean more time with her best friend, Simon, who's becoming more than a friend. But the Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go — especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil — and also her father.

To complicate matters, someone in New York City is murdering Downworlder children. Is Valentine behind the killings — and if he is, what is he trying to do? When the second of the Mortal Instruments, the Soul-Sword, is stolen, the terrifying Inquisitor arrives to investigate and zooms right in on Jace. How can Clary stop Valentine if Jace is willing to betray everything he believes in to help their father?

I liked this book but it wasn't my favorite. I find that what happens between two characters is rather gross. If you've read the book you'll understand what I'm saying but I'm not going to spoil it for you.

The last book I got I ordered online a few weeks ago and it finally came! I've been waiting for ages for this book.

Fear
By Michael Grant

Fear (Gone, #5)

It's been one year since all the adults disappeared. Gone.

Despite the hunger and the lies, even despite the plague, the kids of Perdido Beach are determined to survive. Creeping into the tenuous new world they've built, though, is perhaps the worst incarnation yet of the enemy known as the Darkness: fear.

Within the FAYZ, life breaks down while the Darkness takes over, literally—turning the dome-world of the FAYZ entirely black. In darkness, the worst fears of all emerge, and the cruelest of intentions are carried out. But even in their darkest moments, the inhabitants of the FAYZ maintain a will to survive and a desire to take care of the others in their ravaged band that endures, no matter what the cost.

Fear, Michael Grant's fifth book in the bestselling dystopian Gone series, will thrill readers . . . even as it terrifies them.

This is the 5th book in the series and I'm not done reading it yet but if it's at all like the other book I know I'll love it.

  1. Happy Birthday! I really enjoyed City of Bones and scored it 5 stars also but I never did finish reading City of Ashes. I liked Jace much more that Simon - he got on my nerves too much! Oh yeah, and I know what the ewww part of it all is refering to! I really hope that is solved because otherwise... yuck!

  2. @Rachel They didn't really slove the ew problem -_-. But Simon grows on you and you start to hate Jace more and more toward the end of the book. I mean he did one really nice thing and that's about it.

  3. Happy birthday! I haven't bought FEAR yet. I've been so focused on another book right now, and I know that I'll get distracted by FEAR if I get it right now. I'm really determined to finish this said book too...
So looks like I won't be getting FEAR for a while.
I read the first fifty pages or so online as a preview sometime around March. (And that was only half the selection, so I'm pretty sure they have the first one hundred pages on the internet...) I loved it! I'm so excited to read it!
And you must tell me what you think of City of Bones! I've wanted to read that series for a while now!
